What's up with Rachel?
Rachel Hamilton (Raquel after 8:00pm) was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She moved to Chicago to attend Northwestern University, from which she graduated with a degree in theater. Rachel spent the next 8 years at The Second City, starting in the National Touring Company and ending up on the Mainstage, writing and performing original comedy revues. While in Chicago, Rachel also did numerous tiny shows in tiny venues as well as many independent films. In an effort to escape the tininess of it all, Rachel moved to Los Angeles, where despite an effort to get a career in TV and film going, she found herself drawn to the stage. Again, there were many tiny shows and independent films and a new discovery, solo work. Rachel began writing and performing her own stories on stage at venues all across Los Angeles and is a proud member of The Quarterly Report. Rachel has recently moved to New York where she is running her one-person show, HAMILTONIA, at the Upright Citizens* Brigade Theatre and is a regular player on Sunday nights in Assscat, also at UCB. Rachel is also a guest host on "Young Turks," a radio talk show on Sirius Satellite Radio.
